Reuters reports that Zain is set for an initial public offering of its Iraq unit in “early 2013”, although the structure of the unit still needs to be modified in order to enable this. Zain, along with peers Asiacell and Korek, missed an August 2011 listing deadline mandated by the Iraq government’s mobile licence issue, leading to fines.
